About the 2010 Friends of the Castleton Festival Program
The Châteauville Foundation has created a new program for the close circle of supporters who will help ensure the continued success and artistic excellence of the Castleton Festival. Your gift of $1000 or more will help bridge the substantial gap between the cost of the Festival programming and the revenue we receive in ticket sales—a small fraction of our operating costs due to the otherwise welcome intimacy of our Festival venues. The Friends of the Castleton Festival support the participating young artists—200 in all—and enable us to present world-class opera and concerts in a spot of unparalleled beauty and tranquility in Rappahannock County, Virginia. There is no other musical experience like it, anywhere in the world.
The Castleton Festival, under the artistic direction of Maestro Lorin and Dietlinde Maazel, was heralded in its inaugural year as one of the most important new American festivals and a remarkable training ground for the stars of tomorrow. Sold-out performances, international press acclaim and the ecstatic response of both audience and participants has renewed ourcommitment to maintain and expand our activities each July. This can only happen with the ongoing support of those who share our vision for what the arts, and the passion of young people, can bring to this extraordinary community.
The Friends of the Castleton Festival will receive a number of benefits designed to recognize their invaluable support.
- At all levels, Friends will have priority in ordering Festival tickets before the general public, ticket exchange privileges and access to the Friends' Lounge before and during ticketed Festival performances.
- Invitations to private final dress rehearsals and events exclusively for Friends.
- Tickets for the Festival Opening Night Gala are included at the Patron level and higher, along with complimentary valet parking.
