Directions to Castleton

The Châteauville Foundation and the Castleton Farms Theatre House are located at 663 Castleton View Road, Castleton, VA 22716, about 60 miles southwest of Washington, DC.

Driving directions from Washington, DC; points along I-66 east of Manassas or Gainesville/Warrenton:

• Take I-66 West to Exit 43-A (Gainesville/Warrenton).
• Take US-29 South through Gainesville to Warrenton (approx. 10 miles).
• Approaching Warrenton, follow signs for US-211 West, taking the right-hand fork as marked.
• Continue through several lights, approximately 1 3/4 miles. (Do not turn left for US-211 West Business.)
• Turn RIGHT, just after the Burger King, onto 211 West/Lee Highway, toward Washington, VA, and the Shenandoah National Park.
• Continue on 211 West for 11 miles and look for the left-hand turn for VA-642/Viewtown Road. The turn is at the bottom of hill shortly after you pass a “Welcome to Amissville” sign on your right. You will see the Hackley’s Country Store in the opposite (eastbound) lane, on the far corner.
• Turn LEFT onto VA-642. The Country Store is on your right as you make the turn.
• Continue about 4 miles on VA-642 through Amissville and Viewtown. Stay on the main road as it makes a sharp right turn and becomes Forest Grove Road (VA-640).
• At the end of Forest Grove Road (less than a mile after the sharp right bend), turn RIGHT onto Richmond Road (VA-729).
• Continue without making any turns on Richmond Road, which becomes Laurel Mills Road (VA-618/617), and then Castleton View Road (VA 617), about 4 miles in all. (There is a sharp left in the road just after the Laurel Mills Country Store.)
• Approaching Castleton Farms, there are signs for valet parking on the right. Please note the Theatre House, which sits down to the left, will not be visible from the road.

 

Driving directions via Culpeper, VA from points south.

• Approach downtown Culpeper via Route 15, Route 29, or Route 522.
• Take 229 N (N. Main Street): a left-hand fork after passing through the center of town from the south/west or a sharp right when approaching the historic district form the east/north.
• In less than 1 mile, turn LEFT onto Route VA-729/Eggbornsville Road.
• Continue on VA-729 without making any turns for approximately 18 miles in all. After 10 ½ miles, Eggbornsville Road becomes Richmond Road, then Laurel Mills Road (VA-618/617), and finally Castleton View Road (VA 617). Do not follow 729/Richmond Road when it make a full right turn (toward 211).
• Approaching Castleton Farms, there are signs for valet parking on the right. Please note the Theatre House, which sits down to the left, will not be visible from the road.

 

Driving directions from Front Royal, VA and points north and west.

• From Route 55 East/John Marshall Highway, turn RIGHT onto Route 522/Redmont Road.
• Continue on 522 (south) for approximately 15 miles to a Stop sign at US-211.
• Turn LEFT onto US-211 East, continuing for 2.6 miles.
• Turn RIGHT onto VA-729/Richmond Road.
• Continue 5 miles on 729 to a Stop sign (T-junction).
• Turn RIGHT onto Laurel Mills Road (VA 618/617) which becomes Castleton View Road (VA 617), continuing about 3 1/2 miles, making no turns..
• Approaching Castleton Farms, there are signs for valet parking on the right. Please note the Theatre House, which sits down to the left, will not be visible from the road
